Interface Anthology (Coming up 2008)

by leigh last modified 2008-06-20 20:05

With its unique mentoring process and interactive content, Interface is dedicated to unearthing and promoting Australia’s next generation of public thinkers.

Interface is Vibewire’s annual print anthology focusing on contemporary political, social and cultural issues. Young, emerging writers work with young, established writers to produce essays (ranging from 1200 to 3000 words) on issues they are passionate about. The end result is a rewarding experience for both the writers and mentors, and a quality publication that combines the long essays with short pieces, images and artwork. The mentors themselves, already established in the publishing and media fields, also contribute new works to the publication.

Interface is targeted at young Australians interested in gaining new perspectives about their culture and society, as well as older Australians keen to be on cutting edge of new ideas and writing. This includes students, writers, academics, young and older professionals and other influencers.

Interface is an exciting addition to the independent publishing scene in Australia. It provides talented young people with a credible platform to get their work into the public arena, as well as providing them with the space and support to develop their ideas.

The 2007 edition was funded by the Foundation of Young Australians, FACSIA and UNESCO and launched at the Sydney Writers Festival.

Watch out for the 2008 edition coming in the second half of the year.
